Pastoring Is Easy as is the Christian Life Together, getting to know our Father in heaven
Thoughts for Meditation from Pastor Tom
“Study to show yourself approved” ??? KJV
Approval comes through the blood of Christ alone. What is this saying ?
Consider the “Strong's” definition - From bibletools.orgStudy: Strong's #4704: spoudazo (pronounced spoo-dad'-zo)from 4710; to use speed, i.e. to make effort, be prompt or earnest:--do (give) diligence, be diligent (forward), endeavour, labour, study.
Thayer's Greek Lexicon:spoudazō1) to hasten, make haste2) to exert one' s self, endeavour, give diligencePart of Speech: verb
If you make an effort, earnestly giving diligence to what God says to you, you will discover how approved you are. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.2 Ti 2:15 NIV
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth 2 Ti 2:15 KJV
The word “study” has put many into the bondage of gaining approval by works and the self condemnation of the tree of knowledge. Constantly insecure, questioning their worth and often their salvation. “To make effort, be prompt or earnest” to follow the Lord’s voice will confirm your approval to you, God already knows you are.
Engage with God, this is about relationship, confidence in relating to him.Not education, private development or soulish advancement
Engaging with God will cause confidence in your relationship as you hear and obey. This will cause you to know you are approved. not in a condition of obtaining approval. A secure relationship not insecure. A humble relationship not prideful.
You are approved !
The Father believes in the shed blood of his son on your behalf.
