Pastoring Is Easy as is the Christian Life Together, getting to know our Father in heaven
Thoughts for Meditation from Pastor Tom
Follow the Grace at an Easy Pace
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides,1 Pet 4:10-11 NIV
The grace of God is God’s help to release and develop the gift within you. We inherently are gifted in many ways, yet when self directed find ourselves feeling restricted and unfulfilled. “Self directed gifts are frustrated gifts” especially when we do not love and appreciate ourselves.
The Lord said “when you don’t know what to do, ask me to remind you who you are.” Your identity in God as his son / daughter will bring clarity. His response will be what you need for the affirmation and confidence to follow.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,even to them that believe on his name:Jn 1:12 As you receive from him you are empowered to develop as his son / daughter. This is not a one time thing but the ongoing experience of relationship. As long as you are your own judge you are trapped in your own judgment. To love yourself you must be free from self judgment, only experiencing his love can bring you out of the tree of knowledge / judgment and into the truth of perfect love.
Many define grace as “unmerited favor” but it is actually his intended help to lead you into a deeper and fulfilling relationship with himself as his son / daughter.
Remember: following was his idea, therefore he is leading and as you receive you are empowered. He is not expecting you to believe until you have the power to do so.
This is the work of grace, this is all done experientially engaging with the Lord in loving intimacy. Grace will draw you with love and truth at the Lord’s pace, keeping it easy and light. There is no frantic in following.
let the peace of God rule in your hearts,to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.Col 3:15
Grace and peace are yours in abundance !
