Pastoring Is Easy as is the Christian Life Together, getting to know our Father in heaven

Thoughts for Meditation from Pastor Tom
So Why Do We Teach Morals
Everyone has their own standard for morals, through their upbringing. Acquired knowledge gives each person a unique moral standard and sense of judgment as well as the accompanying insecurity. All have morals and all are individually unique.
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12 KJV
God never intended for man to learn to live “right” by some standard, and acquire rest and peace through a lifelong mental battle to define “good and evil” rife with unrelenting questions. The approach by attaining knowledge is intentionally exasperating .
The commands of the scriptures are so high no one can honestly expect to know and follow them. This is not the Lord's purpose, the scriptures are to call us to him. To help us humbly respond to His love .
It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless, because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression. Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring-not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.Romans 4:13-16 NIV
Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. Galatians 3:19 NIV
The law, God’s moral standard, was given to magnify sin to clarify our need for his promise.
Morals lead to guilt , guilt leads to shame , shame reveals need of forgiveness which leads to Christ
Everyone has an inherent moral standard, many battles have been fought over who was right, only to reveal the destruction of unity and peace, the ways of death. The need for forgiveness, the need of God’s promise.
When your morals produce shame, relax and turn to God’s love, letting his promise be revealed in you. Say, thank you Lord for loving me.
